This role runs the gamut from routine network and system administration/maintenance to providing PC, software troubleshooting support to 50 users, developing and maintaining SQL databases for clinical trials and supporting external web development and validation testing efforts. Our IT Group is highly regarded throughout the company and we're looking for a technically astute, customer-focused IT professional who can become an integral part of our team and support diverse users throughout the organization as well as interface with outside consultants, clinical sites, and vendors as you support our ongoing growth initiatives.
Spiration is a pioneer in its field with more than 55 issued or pending patents and is committed to improving the quality of life for patients with acute and chronic conditions of the lung through the development of novel therapies.

More About Your Role
Reporting directly to the IT Manager, you will join us at our Redmond office. As you can imagine, this is a "hit the ground running" position and your initial challenges revolve around scaling the learning curve with respect to our systems in a fast-paced environment.
You'll utilize both your technical and people skills to effectively leverage resources within the company and perform at full-speed. This role will evolve over time, but at a high level, you'll spend about 60% of your time on routine network administration/maintenance and the remaining 40% with development activities. Specifically, your responsibilities are to:

Pivotal to your success in this role is strong technical savvy and outstanding troubleshooting skills. Equally important, however, will be your ability to keep our users content by ensuring they are satisfied with the support they receive. This will require you to comprehend their needs and requirements and to effectively speak to each user's level of technical understanding, which can range from the highly proficient to novice users with little technical background, with patience and consideration.
Getting ahead in our environment will also call for strong initiative and excellent multitasking ability, as you push to take on more responsibility and help keep our small -- and busy -- department on schedule.
Last, but certainly not least, you'll excel in this role by automating processes, identifying potential systems improvements, and proposing ideas that optimize our business and help our people achieve their goals more efficiently.

Founded in 1999 in Redmond, Spiration is committed to improving the quality of life for patients with acute and chronic conditions of the lung through the development of novel therapies.
We are currently in clinical trials in the US to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the IBV® Valve System which is a minimally invasive device used for the treatment of emphysema and is designed to redirect airflow from diseased portions of the lung to healthier areas. The system has received CE Mark approval for the treatment of diseased and damaged lung in Europe and is an investigational device in Canada.
