While you will be involved in almost all areas of accounting, you'll invest the largest part of your time in payroll, AP, and month end close activities. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have solid accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, including full cycle close processes, and sound knowledge of GAAP. We're looking for a highly organized professional with a strong sense of ownership who is motivated to grow. You'll also need excellent MS Excel abilities and solid communication skills.

What Else You'll Bring to the Table

In addition to the qualifications detailed above, you'll need:

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with ERP accounting software is a plus (we use Finesse, a manufacturing oriented ERP).
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to keep contacts informed of relevant information.

More About Your Role

If you're a good fit for this position, you already know most of what this job entails. However, to be sure we're providing a complete picture, here are some details.

Reporting to the Controller, your key activities will be processing payroll (we use ADP) and AP, and carrying out the month end close process. In addition, you will handle:

• Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
• Fixed assets.
• Cash receipts.
• Invoice reconciliations for all benefits programs.
• Contribution reconciliations for 401(k) and flex benefit plans.
• Tracking of vacation and sick time.
• Administration of the American Express card program.
• Auditing and processing of expense reports.
• Monthly B&O tax return.
• Quarterly payroll tax returns.
• Annual property tax return.

Pivotal to your success will be your ability to establish relationships and open lines of communication with people throughout our organization so that you get the information you need (monthly close numbers, American Express receipts, etc) in a timely manner. This may include setting up processes, such as sending reminder emails on a regular basis.
